Hulu to Bring a Far Cry TV Show from the Producers of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.

The latest action-packed instalment that players experienced was Far Cry 6, which featured Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the antagonist, Antón, and came out during October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is famous for delighting in chaos and insanity with similar excitement, all while weaving gripping, socially charged stories. Little surprise that FX's recent announcement for a Far Cry limited-run show brought on board two creators whose creations have embodied all of those things.

What to Expect

Inspired by Ubisoft's popular video game series, the short-run anthology series will stream on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The series will also follow the video games' style by introducing a different location and cast of characters in subsequent series.

Creative Minds

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the mind behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as showrunners on the series via their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared outstanding relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is fresh, gripping, and wildly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our associates at Ubisoft for entrusting us with this cherished property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also feature in the show, but as of now, we are unsure of what role that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago greenlit for a second instalment, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new long-term contract with the creator.

“Being able to collaborate together with Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” said Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably accommodating, placing faith in us with one of the most famous video-game universes ever created. And along the way, my FX family constantly supports me with their steady confidence and support.”

“What appeals to me about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an anthology-style series. Every title is a take of a theme, the same way each season of Fargo is a variation on a story,” explained Hawley. “To produce a big action show that can evolve from one instalment to the next, while always delving into the core of humanity through this intricate and unpredictable perspective, is a ultimate goal. I’m eager to work with Rob and bring our common unconventional, daring style to the audience.”

A time frame for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
