The tenth week once more provided excitement, with a major surprise for the Bills demonstrating the 'any given Sunday' mantra that attracts so many fans into the NFL
That result could have created things up for the New England Patriots to creep back into a top spot they formerly held, with a schedule that provides them an advantage over their 8-2 rivals
Meanwhile in the NFC the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had perfect results to arrange a monster clash in week 11, while our top performer is chasing records as well as the Most Valuable Player award
The Breakdown - Simply an Off Day for the Bills?
Could it simply have been an emotional letdown from beating the Chiefs the previous week or something more? This remains the question for the Bills to address
The Bills had secured seven victories in a consecutive games against Miami but were second best from the beginning as the Miami team ran out 30-13 winners in an surprising outcome - and display
MVP quarterback Josh Allen only got the squad's initial first down in the third quarter and first points in the fourth - yes the Dolphins had ten days to prepare but it was nonetheless a massive egg laid by one of the NFL's best offenses
Dolphins quarterback Tua passed for two scores but running back Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 total yards and two touchdowns
Containing the league's best rushing attack was also key, with Cook and teammates recording just eighty-six yards, their fewest of the season and just over half their 161.5 yard season average
Then there were the three critical ball losses, and the two from Allen in particular. An interception in the end zone meaning a nine-minute drive produced nothing, and his fourth-quarter fumble that the Dolphins converted to a touchdown just later
It was typical 'old Buffalo' as they hurt themselves in the foot, falling into a hole on defensive side and Josh Allen trying to overcompensate to dig his team from the situation - not the calm, controlled, well-balanced Bills we've seen this season
The Dolphins have served up a bit of everything this year so the jury's out on whether this is the start of something, but for Buffalo they'll need an immediate bounce-back in a tough game against the Buccaneers next week as the Patriots are sneaking into a nice lead at the summit of the AFC East
In Focus - New England Identify Route to Unexpected First Place
Speaking of the Patriots, they're one of three different 8-2 squads in the NFL, all AFC teams, but are they the top team?
You can pick holes in the Patriots, the Broncos and the Colts really for feasting on the weaker opponents, with only five of their total twenty-four victories coming against opponents with a winning record - and one of those was the Indianapolis beating the Broncos
The Broncos beat the champion Eagles in Philly and are kings of the fourth-quarter while Indy can rely on Jonathan Taylor, but the New England adding Sunday's win in Tampa to their primtime win in Buffalo seems like a statement
Their two defeats came in new head coach Mike Vrabel's first three games, with seven straight wins, similar to Denver, from that point - but defeating Baker Mayfield after the Bucs had a bye to prepare was huge
Maye's MVP claims won't go away, and he certainly earns point for courage after absorbing some hard tackles in Tampa but hanging in there to steer his side to success
The defensive unit is reliable and rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson burst onto the scene on game day with 147 yards and two exhilerating scores of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - establishing himself as just the fifth different ball carrier to break 22mph this year on his initial touchdown
While you can debate who 'the best' is technically, the Pats should be favorites to end with the top record thanks to their remaining opponents - which includes just a single matchup against a winning team, although a significant contest against Buffalo
Traveling to the Ravens is also tough, but the Broncos have it more difficult in the AFC West division with the Chiefs to face two times, the Los Angeles Chargers (who could also compete for first place but face the same problem) and additionally the Green Bay on the schedule
The Colts also play the Kansas City, and have the Seattle, 49ers and two matchups with the 5-4 Jacksonville to contend with. There is a long way to travel but the opportunity is available for a shock top seed in the American Football Conference
Next Week - Rams & Seahawks Set for Next Week Clash
Both squads with strong arguments to be better than all of the three different eight and two teams are National Football Conference West opponents the Seahawks and Los Angeles, who both put up 40 burgers to reach seven and two ahead of next week's major meeting between the two in LA
Both have won four in a row, have signal callers in Matthew Stafford and Darnold performing at an high standard (although Darnold had ball security problems on Sunday) with excellent pass catchers, and defenses giving up fewer than twenty points a contest
Each could easily be without a loss as well - especially the Rams as their two defeats came in extra time against the 49ers and then that painful defeat in Philadelphia when they had a potentially winning kick with the last kick blocked and run back by the Philadelphia for a touchdown
Seattle were also defeated to the 49ers, with a late touchdown in week one, before losing to the final play of the contest against the Tampa Bay - so they're genuinely two of the best sides in the NFL
The next matchup on Sunday could be the best of the season so far
Player of the Week - Jonathan Taylor
Taylor could be on for a record season after his incredible display in Germany - running for 244 rushing yards, registering three touchdowns and adding another 42 {receiving yards
